Hard Work is Lit

As a coach my role is to encourage my clients. I encourage them to believe in my philosophy that hard work is lit (legitimate)! Hard work wins. It might not take you all the way to the top by itself but it will get you close.

Hard work leads to achievement and to opportunity. It can also lead to frustration and disappointment. But there is frustration and disappointment in life no matter what you do. Why not exercise some control over it?

We start by identifying your genius. What is it that you are good at and passionate about? Then we determine if we can monetize your passion – will someone pay us for it?

As an example, my passion is words. I love learning new words and I love being creative with words. This led me to a 50+ year career as a court reporter. It also led me to write five books, to become a public speaker, to host a podcast, and more, all of which I have been compensated for.

Let’s take an athlete as an example of the progression of hard work. He or she is encouraged at a very young age to explore sports. He discovers an affinity and a talent for baseball. He spends the next 10 or more years building his skills and moving up in levels of competition. He follows a daily workout routine, a plan of nutrition, he builds relationships, gains confidence and creates opportunities for a lifetime first as a player, then as a coach, a scout, a manager and eventually an administrator.

During a long career he not only builds a career he also builds a life that he can be proud of and fulfilled by. That’s why hard work is lit.
