Influence in the Workplace

How do we gain influence in the workplace? Generally speaking, people with exceptional skills, people who work in powerful jobs, people who possess a significant title, or people of wealth are thought to have influence. But that's only half the story.

Influential people truly become so when they learn how to “Outfluence.” If they are fortunate, someone entered their lives early and taught them how to manage the complexities of communication, helped them to build relationships, taught them the value of an others-focused life, and the importance of community.

Generations ago children were taught these principles -- long before we named these skills “Outfluence.” They learned these skills at home and around the neighborhood, and they practiced them in school under the watchful eye of teachers, fully supported by parents.

Right now, in the 21st century, children are often left to their own devices to learn how to manage themselves in the world. We see the results in our communities and in the workplace. Our world is a mess right now. Our children are a mess right now. Overall, attempts to fix the problems are not working.

Outfluence, LLC, created programs 10 years ago, teaching adults these skills for the workplace. The adults liked the program so much they asked for a version for children.

After five years of research and design, "You Are Here . . . Now What?" was released. The program focuses on everything you would want and expect children to learn about living productive, others-focused, and successful lives. Ideally, the program starts in middle school and concludes at high school graduation.

Parents love it, educators love it, children love it. To learn more about Outfluence and the programs we offer, visit outfluence.com or contact us. We will be happy to introduce it to your school system, public or private.
